This beginner-level course will teach you the 10 most essential and useful hand sewing techniques and stitches, allowing you to finish every project with a clean, professional look. These skills will also enable you to mend, repair, and breathe new life into old clothes and home accessories. We hope this class will encourage you to explore and enjoy the slowness and rhythm of hand stitching. What you will learn: This beginner level course will focus on creating a reference book of hand sewn samples to take away with you so you can refer back to it, anytime it’s needed. The Stitches and techniques taught on this course include: Running stitch Back stitch Diagonal Basting Slip stitch / Ladder stitch Herringbone / Cross stitch Whip stitch Blanket stitch Chain stitch Taylor’s tack Sewing on a button What to bring: All fabric, threads, and needles will be provided during the course. You may wish to bring a notebook and pen if you would like to take additional notes on each stitch or technique. Upon completion of the class, you will receive a PDF guide of all the stitches and their uses.
